C6 Corvette History
The American Legend Continues

The sixth and current generation of the Corvette is said to have a higher level of refinement; with a greater wheel base, though shorter and more narrow body, the C6 has a decidedly different look than it's predecessors. The renovation of the C6 starts with the suspension, and then adds all new bodywork - ending with the controversial exposed headlamps (the first such lamps since 1962). In addition, the passenger compartment is larger, and a very serious 6.0 L engine has been added.
The smaller, sportier C6 Corvette gives the impression of a sleeker - much faster car. This new design was in hopes of attracting buyers of comparable European sports cars. Either way, there are only one more years before the 7th generation debut in 2010.
